Just so we are clear. I have no idea what I'm doing. Del and I went away this weekend, up to Wisconsin, about an hour south of Duluth MN. We stayed at a place on a lake and it was glorious; autumn leaves, quiet, a dock, mist on the water in the early morning, time to read, absolutely glorious.

And now, hello Monday. How is it possible I need a minute? I just had a weekend of minutes and yet here I am, crying in my morning tea for just one more minute! It's ridiculous I know but it doesn't change the fact that I'm absolutely struggling to be awake.

However, the fact is I came up with a plan while at the lake. It's a seven-week training program where I'm going to focus on a variety of things. I'm starting with Acts 2 where we are told that the new believers committed themselves to the apostle's teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. So I am too. I won't unpack all of my plan details this morning, it is Monday after all, but my thoughts about prayer include showing up here in the morning and sharing the prayer I write after my time of reading and meditation at the start of my day.

Will I stick with it? Is anyone here listening? I don't honestly know but I'm committed. I'm doing it. so So without further adieu here we go. Happy Monday.

LORD,

I really truly need a minute. I know. I know. I just came from a weekend of minutes, my minutes, complete with autumn leaves, a lake and time to myself for whatever I decided to do. I have my seven-week training plan ready to go and I'm excited, thankful and tired. Very tired.

Today is the day the LORD has made and I'm thankful for the shape my day has and I'm tired. Tired. Just plain tired.

Can you carry me today LORD? Literally? I'm not sure my legs can take me where I need to go. Can one be thankful for their day and tired of it at the same time? I'm nodding off as I sit here and I have got to go. I think my minute has passed. Prepare me, equip me for what lies ahead. Carry me. Hold my babies. Maybe today we will all feel your supporting us, holding us, and when tonight comes we'll take a minute and understand a bit better what God as our Father truly means.

May it be so.

Amen.

Del got home yesterday and announced the thermometer on his truck registered the outside temperature as 91 degree Fahrenheit. So weird. Not even enjoyable. Naked trees and grass not quite green don't
