February!!
A new month.
Will has a birthday this month and my sweet, kind-hearted, youngest child will be 22 on the 20th.
We have a trip to California coming up on the 12th. I’m hoping for sunshine and a chance to sit, and watch, and listen to waves. Of course there’s Valentine’s Day and I think Groundhog day is tomorrow but beyond that I can’t think of any other special February days.
It’s Wednesday and I’m feeling very Wednesday today. Like I’ve reached the summit of the week and I need a bit of rest before I head back down toward the weekend. Today feels like a mid-week Sabbath.
My Wednesday words are few. Life right now is schedule and winter, a bit of worry, a bit of wonder about life and how it gets so routine and if I should do something about it, a bit of wishing for days past, and some waiting and watching for what God is doing.
Wonderful Wednesday words: winter, worry, wonder, wishing, waiting and watching.
I think even though I’m sitting here in my jammies, no work-out or even a walk planned, feeling a bit weary of the week, I will join Ann Voskamp and declare all of my Wednesday words as grace.
It’s all grace isn’t it?
As I head out for my day I have to believe grace will be more than enough to make today what today will be.
Thank you Lord.
For your grace.
For being loving and faithful.
For being compassionate.
For being slow to anger.
For being full of loyal love (khesed in Hebrew).
In all my words, worries, wonder, watching, waiting, walking, working, wishing, weariness, and during this winter season may I be a reflection of you.
I surrender this Wednesday to you.
Go before me, beside me, and behind me.
Watch over me.
I give you my hand. Hold it tightly and lead me deeper into you.
I trust you.
I love you.
I need you.
Hear my prayers.
Amen.
