It's Saturday. I've had my oatmeal, I'm sipping my tea, I have the house all to myself. I have exercise plans, laundry plans and writing plans but currently, at this very moment, I have no plans. No list. No agenda. No exact time I'm keeping an eye out for or pacing myself by.
No plans.
A full tummy.
A mug of tea.
And if I let it, everything inside me just slides down, lets go, falls.
Thank-you Lord.
Ann talked about The Fall today. Her chapter was based on Genesis 3:6-9. After Adam ate the fruit God comes to walk with them in the garden and God asks them, "Where are you?" In fact as Ann Voskamp points out, "Where are you?" is the first question noted in the Bible.
Ann goes on in her elegant way and talks about how God searches for us and holds us and how we too should search for him in all our moments.
Do you know what the first question of the New Testament is?
"Where is he?"
The wise men come searching for the baby Jesus and ask the first question of the New Testament.
"We only find out where we are when we find out where He is." - Ann
Ann ends the chapter in a beautiful way.
"And that moment when your heart turns to His heart - already turned to you? The Fall turns into a falling into his everlasting arms." - Ann
Lovely.
The Fall becomes the falling into Jesus.
Thanks Ann.
Thank you Lord for Saturday.
